An early morning wake for a trip to The Kruger

Day visits to The Kruger National Park are a fun day out, whether you are in a group of work colleagues or with your family. However, it is encouraged that should you wish to make this trip, you plan it carefully.

Each entrance to The Kruger National Park works on a first come first serve basis for day visitors. In peak season it is recommended that you choose your entrance carefully as each part of The Kruger National Park has certain facilities available to it and animals differ from part to part.

Enjoy a picnic at the designated picnic spots or enjoy some bird watching from the various waterholes. In peak seasons, a park and ride system transports guests from each entry point, around the Park. Each guest will pay an entrance fee upon arrival and alcohol cannot be brought into The Kruger National Park by day visitors.

He married one of the Sun City dancers and 17 years later is still married with 2 children! From Sun City he went on to run the Kalahari Gemsbok National Park lodges for 4 years as GM (Camp Manager) for the three lodges. We went back into the casino resorts hotels when all the gaming licenses were opened and joined London Clubs International as one of the opening GM’s for Emerald Safari Resort Casino in Vanderbijlpark.

From there he went onto Orient-Express Hotels running the Botswana division of their operations, with three 5***** lodges of which he was the GM of all. After living in Botswana for just over 10 years, an awesome experience! H e moved to SA in January 2009 with his family to start their new lives back in SA, open for new opportunities Malcolm Robinson accepted the position as Casa GM! Anything else you may have heard, we suppose is true!

God’s Window

On a clear day this unforgettable spot allows tourists to see all the way to the Kruger National Park and Mozambique. A glimpse to the left will offer the sight of The Three Sisters and just two kilometers north is Wonder View, the highest viewpoint in the area. This photographic view displays Lowveld terrain that will certainly take your breath away.

Blyde River Canyon

This wonder is one of the largest vegetated canyons in the world. Home to various plant and animal species, it is also where Africa split from Madagascar and Antarctica millions of years ago during the break up of Gondwanaland. This sandstone tourist attraction forms the northern part of the Drakensberg, 26km long and 800m deep this canyon offers much jaw dropping scenery to enjoy.

Bourke’s Luck Potholes

They are not just holes in rocks; in fact they have been slowly washed into shape over the years. Over centuries the swirling pebbles in the pools where the Treur River meets the Blyde River have made these enormous voids.

Not far from this tourist attraction is Graskop. A small town that will provide relief to tired or thirsty tourists.

Kruger National Park

A day out skimming the bush for wildlife will have everyone on their toes. The Kruger National Park’s Phabeni Gate is within easy access. The Big Five should keep tourists on the lookout all day.

Sudwala Caves

A visit to the oldest caves known to man is a must do when in Mpumalanga. This very deep system of caves is a tourist attraction that will never be forgotten. Formed over 3000 million years ago, these Precambrian Dolomite rocks captured an underwater era. The Dinosaur Park will keep kids busy with life- size replica’s guarding the cave entrances.

Shangana Cultural Village

Just 5km from Hazyview this African cultural experience offers daytime and midday tours. Evening festivals and team building exercises are also catered for. By visiting this tourist attraction, guests are supporting the Mapulana community and over 100 jobs in the rural area.

The Kruger National Park

The world-renowned Kruger National Park was established in 1898 to protect the wildlife occupying the South African Lowveld, and spans an area of nearly 2 million hectares. As a flagship of the South African National Parks (SANParks), the Kruger National Park is characterised by a combination of savannah, bush veld and woodland vegetation which is home to a number of species including 336 trees, 49 fish, 34 amphibians, 114 reptiles, 507 birds and 147 mammals. This includes the famous big five consisting of the Buffalo, Elephant, Leopard, Lion and Rhino. Movements of these and other mammals are recorded on sighting maps kept at the main gates reception areas and are updated daily.

The Kruger National Park also has a unique cultural and historical background, with well over 255 recorded archaeological sites scattered throughout the park. These range from early Stone Age (roughly 1 million years ago) to various Iron Age settlements and recent historical sites.

All the main rest camps have day visitor areas. There are also many picnic spots, and other rest areas where visitors can get out of their vehicles, distributed throughout the park.

Please be aware that there is a maximum threshold of vehicles that can enter the park daily. Advanced bookings are however available.
